2019Species of Spaces is an investigation which began in 2019 and is based on the appropriation of images captured on surveillance cameras.
In Species of Spaces 3, images of surveillance videos which create a feeling of strangeness, surprise or inquiry are presented. Be it due to their unexpected poetic elements, as landscapes whose composition is worthy of cinematographic framing, or to the fact that they capture unexpected scenes, such as insects who used the camera as a unique nest.
Based on an immense archive of videos which are not made for public appreciation, this work acknowledges the poetic potential of these registers and creates a witness of the present history.
